KUCHING, Oct 3 – A one-meter deep sinkhole has appeared at SK Satri Jaya in Taman BDC, raising safety concerns at the local primary school. The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received a distress call at 1.29pm today, prompting the deployment of Bomba Tabuan Jaya to the scene.
According to the operation commander, the sinkhole measures 6ft by 6ft and has caused cracks along the school’s drainage system. Upon arrival, the firefighters discovered that the affected area had already been cordoned off by quick-thinking teachers, ensuring the safety of the students and staff.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported as a result of the incident.
