148 Honored at Sarawak State Medal Ceremony Led by TYT

KUCHING, November 26 – Sarawak’s prestigious State Degree Awarding Ceremony today recognized 148 individuals for their remarkable contributions. The event, held at the Great Hall of Astana Negeri Sarawak, was graced by His Excellency the President of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Bin Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Binti Mohd. Sanusi.

The ceremony, which began at 11:00 AM, included recipients from 2022, 2023 (delayed due to unforeseen circumstances), and 2024. Also present were Deputy Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications II, YB Datuk Dr. Haji Abdul Rahman Bin Haji Junaidi, and Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department, YB Datuk Dr. Haji Juanda Bin Jaya, accompanied by their spouses.

Highlighting Key Awardees

Among the prominent honorees were several political and community leaders:

  • YB Rodiyah Binti Sapiee (MP for Batang Sadong)
  • YB Mohamad Shafizan Haji Kepli (MP for Batang Lupar)
  • YB Roy Angau Anak Gingkoi (MP for Lubok Antu)
  • YB Allan Siden Gramong (Assemblyman for Machan)
  • YB Awla Bin Idris (Simunjan Assemblyman)

Several others, including academics and assemblymen, were recognized with titles such as Most Honorable Star of Sarawak Officer of Sarawak Star (P.B.S.) and Principal Rank of His Excellency Star Kenyalang Sarawak Official Star Kenyalang (P.B.K.).

Medals Awarded by Category

The distribution of medals honored a wide range of achievements:

  • Service Medal (P.P.B.): 26 recipients
  • Sarawak Star Members (A.B.S.): 16 recipients
  • Shining Star Members (A.B.K.): 8 recipients
  • Meritorious Service Medal (P.P.T.): 41 recipients
  • Sarawak Star Herald (B.B.S.): 38 recipients

In his closing speech, Tun Pehin Sri congratulated the honorees and commended their dedication. “May these recognitions inspire you to continue serving our community and contribute to Sarawak’s growth,” he said.
