Fatal Accident on Jalan Miri-Bintulu Claims Three Lives
MIRI: A tragic single-car accident occurred yesterday (May 5) on Jalan Miri-Bintulu, resulting in the loss of three lives and leaving four others injured.
The incident unfolded near Rumah Nginbang Mile 72 Suai, Niah, as a vehicle carrying passengers from Taman Tunku en route to deliver a wedding proposal in Belaga encountered disaster due to a burst tire.
The car veered off the road, colliding with a roadside signboard and lamp post, leading to fatal consequences.
Swift Emergency Response
Upon receiving the emergency call at 6:50 pm, the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department operations center mobilized firemen from Batu Niah fire station, led by Chief Rary Binjie, and the Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) to the scene.
Tragic Losses
Despite the prompt response and efforts of the rescue teams, three individuals, identified as Jenggeng Leo Tinsok (39), Everlyn Sherly Manyie (26), and Eddy Indau (26), succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
Survivors Hospitalized
Four survivors sustained injuries and were rushed to Batu Niah Health Clinic for medical treatment.
