Introduction: The SFCxMFC Muaythai Challenge

KUCHING (July 31) – The Sarawak Muaythai Association (PMNS) and Mad Fight Club (MFC) have teamed up to promote Muaythai through the recently held SFCxMFC Muaythai Challenge. The event took place at SMASH, The Tops Boulevard Shopping Mall, attracting 70 amateur Muaythai boxers from Kuching and West Kalimantan, Indonesia.

Seventy Fighters, Thirty-Five Bouts

The competition, organized in collaboration with the Malaysian Muaythai Association (PMM), showcased 35 bouts across various weight categories. This event not only provided a platform for showcasing talent but also emphasized the sport’s growing popularity in the region.

PMNS President Jumaat Ibrahim highlighted the event’s significance in promoting Muaythai and nurturing new talents. He noted that this competition served as a warm-up for the upcoming 21st Malaysia Games (Sukma), where the Muaythai competition will be held in Bintulu.

Strategic Partnership with Mad Fight Club

MFC President Tsan Nieng Khai, who also served as the tournament venue sponsor, expressed his hope that such tournaments would continue regularly to further develop and promote combat sports.

Dominance of Kenyalang Muaythai

Fighters from Kenyalang Muaythai dominated the tournament, winning 10 matches. Among the standout performances were Muhd Aqil Zulfiqar, who triumphed over Ahmad Qayyum Haiqal of Petra Jaya Kilas Muaythai Club in the 45-48kg category, and Muhd Habibullah Iswandy, who defeated Emmanuel Thomas of Bau Muaythai Club.
