Kuching, October 12, 2024 – The Jiwa Komuniti MADANI Parliamentary Programme, a community-centered event aimed at fostering civic engagement and community bonding, took place at the bustling North Court of AEON Mall Kuching Central. This grand event, covering Parliamentary constituencies P.195 Bandar Kuching and P.196 Stampin, saw active participation from community leaders, government agencies, and Kuching residents.

Organized by the Kuching District Information Department, the Jiwa Komuniti MADANI Programme was packed with interactive activities, informative sessions, and lively performances. It brought together a wide range of civil community members, local government representatives, and notable figures such as Kapitan Tan Kun Gee from the Hui Sing region, Diana John from Komuniti Madani Kpg Tabuan Jaya Tengah, and Eric Tay Tze Kok from the Kuching South City Council (MBKS).

Morning Sessions: Building Community Spirit

The event kicked off early at 8:00 a.m. with a registration session for participants from Parliamentary P.195 Bandar Kuching, who were warmly greeted with breakfast and distributed informational materials. The morning began with an energetic aerobics session, which quickly set the pace for the day’s activities.

Participants then enjoyed a variety of activities, including sessions and sports matches between the MADANI Community members of P.195. Government agencies and departments had also set up booths for exhibitions, sharing valuable resources and insights. Among the featured organizations were the Sarawak Information Department, SOCSO, the Ministry of Women and Child Development Malaysia, and the Sarawak Social Welfare Department.

For the children, a vibrant Coloring Competition provided a creative outlet, while local performers entertained attendees with captivating PENTARAMA performances. Adding to the excitement, a lucky draw offered participants a chance to win attractive prizes. The morning concluded with a prize presentation for sports participants, followed by a memorable group photography session.

Afternoon Highlights: Civic Engagement and Local Leadership

Following the lively morning, participants from P.196 Stampin began their registration at 1:00 p.m. Lunch was provided for all attendees, allowing a much-needed break before the arrival of notable guests. Distinguished figures such as TPPN En Aziz Abdul Rahman, representing the Sarawak State Information Director, and Datuk Zaeidi Suhaili, Deputy Mayor of MBKS, were welcomed warmly to the event.

The afternoon opened with a ceremonial singing of Malaysia’s patriotic songs, Negaraku and Ibu Pertiwiku, followed by the Pledge of the Pillar of the Nation, underscoring the community’s commitment to national unity and civic duty. Datuk Zaeidi Suhaili then took the stage for the official opening speech, where he emphasized the importance of active community participation in fostering a united, progressive society.

The event continued with a certificate presentation session, honoring the Chairmen of Komuniti MADANI P.195 and P.196 for their dedicated efforts in promoting community development. Datuk Zaeidi Suhaili was presented with a souvenir as a token of appreciation for his support and leadership.

Evening Sessions: Sports, Knowledge, and Entertainment

As the day progressed, the program transitioned back to outdoor activities, featuring a variety of sports events for the MADANI Community of P.196. Visitors enjoyed exploring additional exhibitions hosted by government agencies, including UNIMAS’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and the Malaysian Multimedia Communications Commission (MCMC).

One of the evening’s most engaging segments was the National Quiz Competition, where community members showcased their knowledge of Malaysia’s history, culture, and achievements. The crowd was treated to another round of lively PENTARAMA performances, and a lucky draw added a layer of excitement, offering unique prizes that kept the audience engaged until the very end.

The day concluded with a final round of prize presentations for sports winners, followed by a group photography session to capture the day’s unforgettable moments. Attendees gathered for a warm dinner, allowing them to reflect on the day’s activities and foster further connections with one another.
