KUCHING: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg emphasized that Sarawak must be bold in expanding its reach to the vast Asian market to boost its economy. Speaking at the 10th Anniversary dinner of the Sarawak Center of Technological Excellence (CENTEXS) last night, he pointed out that half of the world’s population is only a five-hour flight away.
“We need to have a strong passion to enter this market,” said Abang Johari, highlighting the importance of leveraging Sarawak’s strategic location. He further emphasized the need for skilled workers in new technologies to explore this opportunity.
“I hope CENTEXS will continue to train Sarawak’s youth to adapt to the evolving technological landscape in the coming decade,” he added.
During the event, awards were presented to 14 winners, and attendees were treated to performances by artists from Indonesia and Malaysia, including Dayang Nurfaizah and actor Fattah Amin.
