BERNAMA-YONHAP – In a dramatic incident at Gimhae International Airport in Busan on Tuesday night, an Air Busan flight caught fire just before takeoff, leading to the safe evacuation of 176 people. According to Yonhap News Agency, the aircraft, which was scheduled to fly to Hong Kong, ignited in flames at the tail section of the plane around 10:30 pm local time.
The fire rapidly spread to the fuselage, triggering an emergency response from airport authorities. Firefighters worked quickly to contain the flames while passengers and crew members were swiftly evacuated via inflatable slides. Thanks to the quick actions of airport staff and emergency responders, all 169 passengers and seven crew members were safely removed from the plane. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
