BINTULU – The China Enterprise Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (CECCM) Sarawak Branch has generously donated RM100,000 to assist flood victims in Bintulu. This timely support aims to ease the burden of those affected by the recent disaster.
The donation was raised through an emergency campaign themed “Together to Face Challenges, Express Concern”, with CECCM members quickly mobilising funds as soon as the floods hit. The funds were handed over to the Bintulu Disaster Management Committee on Friday and will be used for temporary shelters, medical assistance, and infrastructure repairs.

CECCM Sarawak Branch Chairman, Jia Yunjian, expressed the chamber’s deep commitment to the local community. “Chinese companies have been operating in Sarawak for decades, not only in the energy and infrastructure sectors but also in supporting the welfare of the people. We are always ready to help in difficult times like these,” said Jia.

Floods in Bintulu have caused significant disruption, affecting hundreds of residents and damaging homes, schools, and public infrastructure. The donation from CECCM will help expedite recovery efforts and provide much-needed relief to those affected.
CECCM’s gesture is a reminder that collaboration and mutual support are key in times of crisis. Their continued involvement in Sarawak’s development reflects the strong relationship between Chinese companies and the local community. – UKAS EDITION
