Chong Siat Choo emerged as the champion in the Professional Camera Category of the 2nd Harmonious Sarawak Photography Competition held in conjunction with the Seng-Ong Deity Birthday and Procession 2024.
KUCHING (June 6): Chong Siat Choo secured the top spot in the fiercely contested Professional Camera Category of the 2nd Harmonious Sarawak Photography Competition. The competition, organized in conjunction with the Seng-Ong Deity Birthday and Procession 2024, showcased exceptional talent and creativity in photography.
Outstanding Winners and Exceptional Talent
Wei Yue Boon and Wong See Wah clinched the first runner-up and second runner-up positions, respectively, in the Professional Camera Category, demonstrating their prowess in the art of photography.
The competition also recognized the talent of other participants, with Ho Kok Boon, Yu Yong Keat, Tai Mei Lin, and others receiving consolation prizes for their remarkable entries.
Digital Mobile Phone Category Winners
In the Digital Mobile Phone Category, Yekea Liew secured the top position, followed by Lim May Meei and John Lai Teck Kee. The category showcased the increasing popularity and innovation in mobile photography.
Celebrating Short Video Creation
Tan Tze Yung emerged as the champion of the Harmonious Sarawak Short Video Creation, capturing the essence of harmony and celebration in Sarawak through creative videography.
High Participation and Quality Entries
The Kuching Hockien Association received an overwhelming response to the competition, with 1,050 excellent works submitted across both categories. The judges faced a challenging task of selecting the winners from the 47 participants in the professional camera category and 39 participants in the digital mobile phone category.

The competition aimed to portray the theme of harmonious coexistence among Sarawakians, capturing the celebration, harmony, and joy of the people in their unique and imaginative ways. The entries reflected the diverse cultural tapestry of Sarawak, showcasing its beauty and unity.
