Debut Tour to Enrich Sarawak’s Entertainment Scene

KUCHING: The renowned Great British Circus is set to dazzle audiences as it makes its Sarawak debut, promising a spectacular array of performances that will captivate both young and old alike. The tour will commence in Kuching from June 8 to July 14 at the Sarawak State Stadium, followed by a stint in Miri from July 27 to August 25 at the Boulevard Shopping Mall.

A Fusion of Family Entertainment

Audiences can expect a daily two-hour show brimming with a diverse range of acts, from side-splitting comedy to awe-inspiring stunts, vibrant dance numbers, and dazzling acrobatics. The Great British Circus aims to deliver an unforgettable experience that celebrates the magic of live performance.

Boosting Sarawak’s Tourism Landscape

Speaking at a press conference, Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts (MTCP) Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah underscored the significance of the event in enriching Sarawak’s tourism offerings. He emphasized that the circus tour would contribute to the local economy, create job opportunities, and enhance the cultural tapestry of the region.

International Flair

With a cast comprising 150 crew members from over 10 countries, including Ukraine, South America, Brazil, Colombia, the United Kingdom, and Bulgaria, the Great British Circus promises a truly global spectacle. Circus owner Lord Kiril Kirilov expressed excitement about showcasing diverse talents and cultural influences on stage.

A Vision for the Future

Looking ahead, Kirilov shared aspirations of making Kuching a regular stop on the circus’s itinerary, with plans to introduce fresh and diverse shows, including musicals and on-ice performances. He emphasized the importance of exposing children to the magic of live performance, hinting at the inclusion of a Sarawakian performer in the lineup.

Tickets for the Great British Circus are now available for purchase, catering to both children aged 3 to 12 and adults. Prices range from RM30 to RM150 and can be obtained online at www.greatbritishcircus.com.

The press conference saw the presence of key figures including MTCP Deputy Minister Datuk Snowdan Lawan, Permanent Secretary Datuk Sherrina Hussaini, and Sarawak Sports Corporation CEO Awang Putrayusrie Awang Redzuan.
