Introduction

The trip spanned over 13 days, covering a total distance of 1,176 kilometers. Route and Daily Progress

Day 1: Johor Bahru to Mersing (143 KM)

The journey commenced from Johor Bahru, heading towards Mersing. The route was primarily coastal, offering scenic views of the South China Sea. The weather was favorable, aiding in a smooth start.

Day 2: Mersing to Pekan (110 KM)

Continuing along the east coast, the second day involved cycling through lush greenery and occasional rain showers. The destination for the day was Pekan, known for its royal heritage.

Day 3: Pekan to Kuantan (47 KM)

A shorter distance day, allowing for some rest and exploration of Kuantan, a vibrant city in Pahang known for its beautiful beaches.

Day 4: Kuantan to Kuala Terengganu (163 KM)

This leg of the journey was challenging due to longer distances and hilly terrain. However, the picturesque landscapes and welcoming local communities provided motivation.

Day 5: Kuala Terengganu to Jertih (105 KM)

The route took a northern turn towards Jertih. The weather remained supportive, and the journey was marked by interactions with local cyclists who offered support and companionship.

Day 6: Jertih to Kota Bharu (86 KM)

Reaching Kelantan’s capital, Kota Bharu, was a significant milestone. The city is rich in culture and history, providing a refreshing break.

Day 7: Rest Day in Kota Bharu

A well-deserved rest day was taken in Kota Bharu to recuperate and prepare for the remaining journey. Activities included local sightseeing and sampling traditional Kelantanese cuisine.

Day 8: Kota Bharu to Jeli (98 KM)

The journey resumed towards Jeli, a town known for its natural beauty and tranquility. The ride was relatively smooth with moderate elevation changes.

Day 9: Jeli to Gerik (80 KM)

Crossing into Perak, the route to Gerik involved navigating through the Titiwangsa mountain range. The challenging climb was rewarded with stunning vistas.

Day 10: Gerik to Kuala Kangsar (121 KM)

The descent from the highlands to Kuala Kangsar was both thrilling and demanding. The historical town of Kuala Kangsar provided a glimpse into Malaysia’s royal heritage.

Day 11: Kuala Kangsar to Taiping (50 KM)

A shorter, more relaxed ride to Taiping, known for its well-preserved colonial architecture and serene lake gardens.

Day 12: Taiping to Butterworth (63 KM)

The final leg of the journey involved a ride to Butterworth, Penang. Crossing the Penang Bridge was a symbolic end to the cycling mission.

Day 13: Arrival and Reflection in Butterworth

The mission was successfully completed in Butterworth. A day was spent reflecting on the journey, meeting with local cycling enthusiasts, and celebrating the accomplishment.
