KUCHING, Nov 30 – The leadership of the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) remains unchanged as Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian has been re-elected as the party president for the 2025-2027 term.
The announcement was made on Dr Sim’s social media yesterday (Nov 29), marking the closure of nominations for SUPP’s top five positions during the Triennial General Meeting (TGM).
The key leadership positions within the party will continue to be held by their existing members. Serian MP Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem and Transport Minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin retain their roles as deputy presidents.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Tourism Dato Sebastian Ting remains as SUPP’s secretary-general, and Deputy Minister of Talent Development Datuk Francis Harden Hollis will continue as the party’s treasurer.
Dr Sim, who also serves as the Minister of Public Health, Housing, and Local Government, expressed his gratitude to party members for their unwavering trust and solidarity.
“Thanks for the support, solidarity, and loyalty in re-electing me as the party president (2025-2027),” Dr Sim shared in his post.
He urged SUPP members to uphold their responsibilities in line with the party’s mission to advance Sarawak’s development and prosperity for the people.
“SUPP in 2024 is vastly different from the SUPP that was divided in 2011. Let us continue to play our role and contribute to the growth of Sarawak,” Dr Sim said.
Founded in 1959, SUPP remains a pivotal political force in Sarawak, focusing on serving the community and championing development initiatives.
