MIRI: A shocking fire incident broke out in Kampung Pasir, Simpang 3, Lutong last night, completely destroying a power generator shed.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Operations Group (PGO), they received an emergency call at 7.57pm about the fire. In response, a six-member team from the Lutong Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) was immediately deployed to the scene.
Small Shed, Big Fire
Upon arrival, the firefighters found a 5×8 foot temporary shed fully engulfed in flames. The shed, which was privately owned, served as an electricity supply source for a nearby house but was built separately from the main residence.

Quick Action by Firefighters
The Operations Response Team (PKO) swiftly launched an extinguishing operation using the RECEO concept (Rescue, Exposure, Confinement, Extinguishment, Overhaul). A 200-foot water hose and a nozzle connected to a fire engine tank were used to bring the fire under control.
Firefighters managed to fully extinguish the fire within minutes, wrapping up the operation by 8.05pm after ensuring all embers were put out.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in the incident. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
