TATAU (June 5) – The Civil Defence Force (APM) is on alert after several low-lying areas in Tatau were hit by flash floods today. Despite the fine weather, the water levels are rising, prompting APM to monitor high-risk areas closely.

High-Risk Areas Under Surveillance

APM has identified several areas at risk, including:

  • Kampung Baru Tatau
  • Berek Tatau
  • Pasar Lama Tatau
  • Taman Komuniti Sungai Jatan

An inspection carried out at 8.20am today found that water levels were increasing, raising concerns among residents and authorities alike.

Call for Vigilance

APM has urged residents to remain vigilant and to report any signs of flooding to the authorities immediately. In a Facebook post, APM emphasized the importance of staying alert, even if the weather appears to be fine.

Roads Still Accessible

Despite the flash floods, APM confirmed that roads in the affected areas remain passable to all vehicles. No emergencies have been reported so far, ensuring that transportation and movement within these areas can continue without major disruptions.
