Choo fondly highlighted the charm of Carpenter Street, drawing a comparison to Penang’s historic old streets, where he grew up. A fan of Sarawakian cuisine, he especially praised the local favorite, Sarawak Laksa. When asked about the friendly rivalry between Sarawak Laksa and Penang Laksa, he tactfully responded that each version of the dish is “special in its own way.”

Recognizing Kuching’s potential as an international tourism gem, Choo expressed optimism about the city’s future growth. “I believe Kuching will grow into a famous tourist destination, with more people drawn here by its rich culture, art, and cuisine,” he remarked, hoping his visit might inspire others to experience Kuching’s wonders.

Aside from exploring, Choo is impressed by Sarawak’s leadership under Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, commending the state’s initiatives to enhance youth education and improve infrastructure, including plans for a new airport terminal.

Reflecting on his time in Kuching, Choo hinted at frequent future visits, enchanted by the city’s serenity. “I think I’ll come back more often after this because I think this place is really good. I want to walk around this beautiful city and soak in everything Kuching has to offer,” he shared.

With his appreciation for Kuching’s unique appeal and cultural depth, Jimmy Choo’s visit has cast a spotlight on the city as a rising destination for locals and international tourists alike.
