West Melbourne’s Joann Store Spared (For Now)
Craft lovers, brace yourselves—Joann Fabrics is closing about 500 stores nationwide as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. The Ohio-based crafting giant confirmed the closures, citing declining store performance and tough business conditions. This marks Joann’s second bankruptcy filing in just 12 months.

Out of the 850 Joann stores, 36 in Florida are on the closure list. Luckily for Brevard County residents, the West Melbourne location at 1537 W. New Haven Ave. is not one of them.
