KUCHING: East Malaysia’s largest integrated senior wellness centre is set to open in Kuching, bringing a new era of senior care and wellness to the city. Named Care Collective, the state-of-the-art facility is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of next year.

This ambitious project is a collaboration between award-winning property developer Elica Equity Sdn Bhd and senior living specialist My Care Concierge Sdn Bhd (Care Concierge). The wellness centre will be housed in Wisma Elica, previously known as Four Points by Sheraton Kuching Hotel or Century Kuching Hotel.

In a recent press conference, the official establishment of Care Collective Sdn Bhd was announced alongside a signing ceremony. Elica’s managing director Datuk Bobby Ting, My Care Concierge Sdn Bhd CEO Martin Yap, and COO Justin Yap were present for the momentous event. The ceremony was also witnessed by Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng.

Mayor Wee praised the initiative, emphasizing its significance in addressing the needs of Kuching’s aging population. “The Care Collective initiative redefines how we care for and celebrate our seniors, ensuring lives of dignity and fulfilment,” he said. He further highlighted that this development aligns with Kuching’s vision of inclusivity and sustainability.

The facility is designed to provide a comprehensive approach to senior living, combining advanced medical care with wellness services in a luxurious retreat-like atmosphere. It will feature:

  • 92 rooms, including Independent Living Units (ILUs) and Assisted Living Units (ALUs)
  • A rehabilitation centre
  • A senior clubhouse and daycare facility
  • Post-hospitalisation recovery programmes
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) services

The wellness centre will cater to retirees, post-hospitalisation patients, expatriates, and participants in the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme. With the capacity to accommodate up to 125 residents, it will be managed by Care Concierge, which already oversees nine similar facilities in Peninsular Malaysia.
