Fresh from her gold medal win at the 27th World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA), Taylor is ready to light up the stage at this highly anticipated event.

Taylor’s recent mini concert, hosted by Reening Lau on Aug 23, featured performances by her close friends, whom she affectionately calls her ‘brothers and sisters’ — Chien Ng, Ivan, Jayc Panganiban, Dell Lawrence, and Faith Fiance. The young star, still glowing from her triumph at the WCOPA in Long Beach, United States, expressed her excitement about performing in her hometown of Kuching.

“I feel so great, so alive again! It was so hard to achieve that goal (at WCOPA), and now I’m so happy to sing with my friends. Yippee!” she exclaimed, her eyes shining with joy. Taylor also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her supportive friends, saying, “I love you.”

When asked about her advice for young children who dream of singing but feel too shy to pursue their passion, Taylor offered words of wisdom: “Never give up, have confidence, and be brave. There are so many people who will support you along the way.”

The ‘Be A Star K-Pop Dance Concert Competition’, now in its third edition, is organised by Junior Chamber International (JCI) Damai. The event promises to be a spectacle, featuring around 30 groups comprising approximately 200 dancers from Indonesia, Peninsular Malaysia, and across Sarawak, including Miri, Sibu, Bintulu, and Kuching.

International Judges and Workshops Elevate the Event

Participants will be evaluated by a distinguished panel of international judges, including South Korea’s Yeojin, Thailand’s Ritthithep Saisuwan, and Indonesia’s Natya Shina. The competition aims to not only showcase talent but also provide an enriching experience for all attendees. The judges, known for their expertise and reputation in the dance industry, will also conduct a special dance workshop at Star Studio Kuching on Aug 31. Aspiring dancers will have the rare opportunity to learn directly from these global professionals.
