KOTA SAMARAHAN: A luxury Porsche sports car with registration number PLG 98 was completely destroyed in a fire on Jalan Datuk Mohammad Musa this evening, shocking passersby and motorists in the area.
The Fire and Rescue Department’s Operations Centre received an emergency call at approximately 5.30pm. In response, a team from the Kota Samarahan Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) was immediately dispatched to the scene, located around 12 kilometres from the station.

Upon arrival at 5.40pm, firefighters found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Despite their swift response, the fire had already consumed the entire car, leaving only its charred remains. The firefighting team, led by PBK II (TBK I) Nur Affandy, launched an immediate extinguishing operation using two auxiliary hose lines from the fire engine.

Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control and fully extinguished it by 6.14pm. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident. However, the cause of the fire and the total loss in damages remain under investigation by the authorities.
Eyewitnesses expressed shock at the sight of the burning luxury vehicle, with some taking videos and photos of the dramatic scene. Traffic in the area was momentarily affected as authorities worked to manage the situation.
After ensuring that there were no further risks of re-ignition, the fire brigade wrapped up their operations and handed over further investigations to the police. The incident has raised concerns about vehicle safety, especially for high-end cars.
Authorities urge vehicle owners to conduct regular maintenance checks and ensure their cars are in good condition to prevent similar incidents in the future.
