KUCHING: The AZES WAO New Hope Chamber Orchestra Concert has once again showcased the power of music in bringing people together, transcending cultural and national boundaries.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian highlighted the significance of the concert as a powerful symbol of global cooperation.
“In today’s world, where social divisions, inequality, and environmental challenges persist, events like this inspire us to address these issues with empathy and creativity,” said Dr Sim, in a speech delivered on his behalf by Batu Kitang State Assemblyman (ADUN), Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang.

Held at the Swinburne University Sarawak Campus, the concert attracted over 300 attendees, creating an atmosphere of harmony and hope. This event, part of a nationwide tour, was organised by ASEZ WAO and SSWOW, groups dedicated to humanitarian and environmental efforts.

Dr Sim praised the youth volunteers from ASEZ WAO and SSWOW for their commitment to community service. “This concert serves as a reminder that even during uncertain times, we have reasons to hope and paths to build a better future,” he added.

The concert’s uniqueness lay not only in the exquisite musical performances but also in its vibrant cultural showcases. Attendees had the chance to engage in traditional Korean games and try on the elegant hanbok attire, adding a rich cultural dimension to the event.
The event also shed light on ASEZ WAO’s environmental initiatives, reinforcing the organisation’s dedication to sustainability and conservation.
