Newly-Married Woman Killed, Husband Seriously Hurt in Bintulu Car Crash
Tragic Single-Vehicle Accident Claims One Life
BINTULU (June 11): In a heartbreaking incident early this morning, a single-vehicle accident on Jalan Pesisir Bintulu-Samalaju claimed the life of a young woman and left her husband seriously injured.
The accident, which occurred at approximately 7:22 AM, saw both victims being flung out of their vehicle. The car, which sustained significant damage, landed on its side, highlighting the severity of the crash.
Victims Identified
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) has identified the deceased as 24-year-old Nur Fariha Abu Bakar Ashe’ari, a resident of Tanjung Kidurong. The newly-married couple’s joy was abruptly turned into sorrow with this tragic event.
Emergency Response and Rescue Efforts
Upon receiving the distress call, Bomba promptly dispatched three firefighters from the Kidurong fire station to the accident scene.
“After Bomba arrived at the location, the operation commander reported that the accident involved a car, which had been carrying a newly-married couple,” Bomba said in a statement. “The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital by Health Ministry staff.”
Aftermath and Investigation
Following the incident, the woman’s body was handed over to the police for further investigation. Firefighters then proceeded to clear the debris from the accident scene, ensuring the area was safe for other motorists.
