KUCHING (June 13) — A recent police operation, Ops Noda, resulted in 12 entertainment premises being issued compounds for violating their operating licences. The joint operation, conducted by Kuching police and the Kuching South City Council (MBKS), targeted 25 entertainment outlets from 9pm on Wednesday until 4am today.
Details of the Operation
Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah announced that 12 out of the 25 premises inspected were found to be in violation of their licensing conditions. Each offending premise was issued a compound of RM3,000 for their respective offences.
Violations Discovered
Ahsmon detailed the nature of the violations discovered during the operation. The infractions included:
- Operating without proper entertainment, singing, and karaoke licences.
- Modifying karaoke stages and placing them on the upper floor.
- Hosting live band performances while only possessing a licence for selling food and beverages.
- Operating two shop lots under a single licence.
