SIBU: A shooting incident took place early Thursday morning (Dec 26) in Jalan Lada, Sibu, sparking a police investigation. According to Sibu police chief, ACP Zulkipli Suhaili, preliminary findings indicate that the shooter fired four rounds from a firearm, targeting both a house and a car belonging to the victim.
Miraculously, no one was injured during the incident. ACP Zulkipli stated that the suspects are believed to have been multiple individuals who were travelling in a black Toyota Vios. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and the police are actively working to identify and apprehend those responsible for the crime.
The police received a report about the shooting at 1:54 a.m. from a member of the public who heard what sounded like a loud explosion near a residential area. Authorities quickly arrived at the scene and began their investigation.
As of now, the case is being investigated under Section 39 of the Arms Act 1960, which relates to the unlawful discharge of a firearm, and Section 427 of the Penal Code, which pertains to mischief by damaging property. ACP Zulkipli emphasized that efforts are being made to locate the suspects involved in the shooting.
