BINTULU: A man sustained injuries after his Proton Saga collided with a lorry and trailer in the Taman Bilangan area of Jalan Pesisir Pantai Bintulu-Miri this morning.
The accident, which occurred around 8.55 am, prompted an emergency response from the Kidurong Fire and Rescue Department (BBP Kidurong). A spokesperson for the Sarawak Operations Centre confirmed that a team was dispatched to the scene immediately after receiving a distress call.
“Upon arriving, the fire brigade discovered a chain accident involving three vehicles,” the spokesperson explained.
Rescue personnel worked swiftly to extricate the injured driver from the Proton Saga. While the man sustained hip injuries, he was not trapped in the wreckage, allowing for a relatively smooth rescue operation.
The injured driver was handed over to the Ministry of Health Malaysia’s medical team at the scene for further treatment.
The incident highlights the importance of cautious driving, especially along high-traffic routes such as Jalan Pesisir Pantai Bintulu-Miri. Authorities are urging all road users to remain vigilant and adhere to road safety regulations to prevent similar accidents.
