“As mayor, this is a challenge for me, and with the people’s support, I must do better,” he said. “I want to thank all residents from Kuching, whether from under the jurisdiction of MBKS or Kuching North City Commission (DBKU), who participated in the walk for their confidence and commitment to the councils.”

A Record-Breaking Year

This year, the Mayor’s Walk recorded an unprecedented number of participants, with more than 10,000 people taking part in the event. The enthusiasm and energy were palpable as the walkers, undeterred by the rain, embarked on the walk through the city, turning the streets into a sea of umbrellas and raincoats.

MBKS Deputy Mayor Dato Zaiedi Suhaili and Kuching Food Festival 2024 Organising Chairman, Councillor Mok Chuang Ping, were also present, lending their support to the event. Their presence underscored the significance of the Mayor’s Walk as a symbol of community solidarity and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

The Importance of Exercise for Good Health
