KOTA KINABALU (Feb 10): A saleswoman from Sabah had the surprise of a lifetime when she won a staggering RM20.9 million in the Toto 4D Jackpot 1 on Chinese New Year’s Eve. She was one of two lucky winners sharing the RM23.1 million prize.
STM Lottery Sdn Bhd shared in a press release that the 54-year-old winner had placed her bets using a System Play ticket, giving her the lion’s share of the jackpot.
“I didn’t have any special numbers in mind. I simply collected car registration numbers from vehicles parked around my neighbourhood,” the winner said.

With 18 sets of numbers—a nod to the luck associated with the number 18 during Chinese New Year—she bet on a System Play ticket. She only discovered her win on the first day of Chinese New Year.
“This big angpow is the best gift I could ever imagine,” she said joyfully. Her winning numbers 8544 & 6238 brought her RM20,924,354.85, along with an extra RM5,376 from the System Play bonus.
The saleswoman plans to share part of her winnings with her family and invest the rest.
Selangor Designer Wins RM2.2 Million
The other winner was a 57-year-old designer from Selangor who bagged RM2.2 million with an i-System 20 ticket.
“I must thank the customer service assistant for advising me to bet on a Special Draw day,” said the designer. His 20 sets of 4D numbers, which included 2896 & 6238, have been his regular picks for a long time.
His i-System 20 ticket earned him RM2,202,563.55, plus an additional RM637.20 as an i-System bonus. The designer plans to buy a house for his daughter and save the rest for his retirement fund.
Both winners expressed their gratitude for this life-changing experience, making Chinese New Year 2025 a celebration to remember.
