KUCHING (June 5): Sarawak has been recognised globally as a key player in hydrogen production, says Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

He outlined several strategic developments, including the acquisition of Bintulu Port, proposed energy hubs in Samalaju and Kidurong, and plans for transborneo gas pipes. These initiatives, he believes, will generate high-paying jobs for Sarawakians, further bolstering the state’s economic prosperity.

Highlighting Sarawak’s commitment to sustainable practices, Premier Abang Johari mentioned efforts to produce green fuel, such as Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from algae. He also announced housing and commercial developments at the Betong junction, aiming to accommodate 1,000 housing units in phases.
