KUCHING, NOVEMBER 30 – The 2024 Tianmenggong Liu Shixing Cup International High-pole Lion Dance Invitational Competition has concluded, and the results are in! Hosted by the Kuching Vitality Team and co-organized by the Sarawak Guan Sheng Gong Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe and the Sarawak Hakka Association Youth Group, the competition has been a spectacular showcase of skill, tradition, and teamwork.
The Sarawak Kuching Dongfa Lion Dance Troupe emerged victorious, securing the championship with an impressive score of 9.19 points. Their performance, themed “Eastern Expeditions and Western Expeditions to Explore the Mountains and Rivers, the Light of Dharma Shines in All Directions,” wowed the judges and the audience alike.
The runner-up position was claimed by the Negeri Sembilan Guiqing Literary Association Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe, who performed their theme “Looking for Wine” and earned a score of 9.14 points. Close behind, the Kuala Lumpur Renwei Dragon and Lion Dance Sports Club secured third place with their performance, “The Lions Take the Cliff Green by Strategy,” achieving a score of 9.11.
