“I encountered various challenges in terms of training and injuries, but that’s common. The important thing is to have a strong mindset to achieve what you desire,” he expressed. Azlan emphasized the importance of managing nervousness, stating, “Stay happy, calm yourself, maybe dance a bit to relax.”

In addition to his record-breaking lift, Azlan also excelled in the total lift category, clinching another gold medal with a combined lift of 465kg from three attempts—150kg in his first attempt, 155kg in the second, and 160kg in the third.

Despite his accomplishments, Azlan faced skepticism regarding his aspirations in the sport. He remained undeterred, advising others to let negativity roll off their shoulders: “For me, it’s best not to pay attention. Let it go in one ear and out the other.”

The silver medal in this category was awarded to Muhammad Akmal Danish Mohamad Supi from Perak, who achieved a total lift of 425kg with a best lift of 143kg. Muhamad Syalqi Mohd Shikri from Perlis secured the bronze medal, lifting a total of 333kg with a best lift of 116kg.
