BINTULU, Feb 3 – A shocking video allegedly showing a gang member attacking another person with scissors has caused public outrage and fear in Bintulu. This alarming incident has prompted Bintulu Member of Parliament (MP) Dato Sri Tiong King Sing to call for immediate and firm action against gang-related crimes in his constituency.

In a Facebook post today, Tiong, who is also the assemblyman for Dudong, expressed deep concern over the viral video, which has led many to question the level of safety in Bintulu.
“I have been informed that the suspect has surrendered to the police. I urge Bintulu district police chief, Supt Nixon Joshua Ali, and his team to take strict action according to the law,” said Tiong.

He stressed that serious crimes like this must not be taken lightly, calling for a crackdown on gang violence.
“This incident is too severe to be ignored. Many residents have sent me the video, expressing their fear that Bintulu is no longer safe. We cannot allow gangs to control our town!” he added.
Final Warning to Gang Members
Tiong, who is also the Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, issued a stern warning to those involved in gang-related activities, telling them to stop immediately.
“The actions of these gangs have become too extreme. If we do not take firm action now, they will feel that they can control the law and threaten public safety,” he said.
Tiong Denies Links to Gangs
At the same time, Tiong dismissed past allegations suggesting that he had connections with gangsters.
“I fully support the law and will never tolerate violence or crime. I will not protect any lawbreakers. No matter who I meet, my advice remains the same—follow the law and choose the right path,” he stated.
Tiong emphasized that conflicts should be resolved through legal means and not violence. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring a peaceful and safe environment for the people of Bintulu.
“My biggest hope is for the people of Bintulu to live in peace and safety. I support those who work hard to earn an honest living. But for those who think they can use gang influence to create fear and disturb society, I will stand firmly with the police to ensure strict enforcement of the law—without exception!”
The incident has raised concerns about public safety in Bintulu, and many residents are now looking to the authorities for decisive action against gang-related crimes.
