KUCHING, Dec 12 — A search and rescue (SAR) operation has been launched to locate a 54-year-old man reported missing in a farmland area in Limbang.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) revealed that they received a distress call at 8:24 a.m. this morning. Acting swiftly, a team from the Bomba Limbang station was dispatched to the scene.
The missing individual has been identified as Wislie Lahap, a resident of Kampung Pahlawan, Limbang. He was last seen leaving his village on Dec 10 at 5:15 p.m. to visit a nearby area but failed to return home. Concerned family members alerted the authorities when he did not show up.
Today’s SAR effort is a collaborative operation involving personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department, Royal Malaysia Police, and the Malaysia Civil Defence Department (APM).
Currently, the search is focused within a one-kilometer radius of the location where Wislie was believed to have gone missing. SAR teams are combing the area meticulously, utilizing search equipment and local expertise to ensure no stone is left unturned.
Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any relevant information that may aid in locating the missing man. The SAR team is committed to bringing him back safely.
