Last weekend, Apple Lai and her friends went on an exciting adventure to Sebako Waterfall, located about an hour’s drive from Kuching, near the Sematan/Lundu area. The trip involved a group of six people who took on the challenge of hiking for about two and a half hours to reach the stunning waterfalls.
The hike was not easy, with difficult paths both up and down the mountain. The group had to stop at Level 11 of the waterfall as their local guide advised against continuing to Level 12 due to poor weather conditions. The guide was concerned about safety, especially if it started raining, which could make it dangerous to descend.
The team started their hike around 10 a.m., reaching Level 11 by noon. They spent time enjoying the beautiful scenery and playing in the cold, clear waters of the waterfall before heading back down. It took them another hour to descend, and they arrived at the bottom of the mountain at around 4 p.m.
Sebako Waterfall has 12 levels in total, each with breathtaking views and photo opportunities. The waterfalls are powerful, with strong, clean water that adds to the beauty of the experience. However, this adventure is not suitable for children, as the climb is challenging, especially the first section of stairs and other difficult parts along the way.
