Simunjan, Sarawak — A 53-year-old man was seriously injured after being thrown from his vehicle in a horrifying accident on Jalan Sri Aman-Kuching near Kampung Jirok yesterday morning. The accident, which occurred at approximately 9:40 AM, involved a Toyota Hilux four-wheel drive vehicle and a Hino lorry parked along the highway.
According to Simunjan District Police Chief DSP Rafhan Kepli, the Toyota Hilux was traveling at high speed when it crashed into the rear of the stationary Hino lorry. The lorry had been parked in the right lane of the road with proper warning signs in place, but the Hilux driver apparently failed to slow down in time.
