LABUAN (Nov 7) – A pickup truck owner in Labuan was left in utter shock when he discovered a small python coiled on the dashboard of his vehicle early this morning. The unexpected encounter occurred at Kampung Sungai Labu around 7 am, just as the man was about to head out for work.
It is still unclear how the snake managed to slither its way into the vehicle, but its sudden appearance left the owner startled. As he opened the door to start his day, the sight of the unwelcome guest immediately sent chills down his spine.
Upon receiving a report of the snake sighting at 7:23 am, the Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM) Labuan swiftly responded and dispatched a rescue team to the scene. Using special tools designed for capturing wildlife, the team was able to safely remove the python from the truck’s dashboard without causing harm to the reptile.
The snake was then transported to the APM office for further examination before being handed over to the Wildlife Department for proper relocation. Thankfully, the operation concluded smoothly without any incidents, and the owner’s vehicle was returned to its original state.
The presence of snakes in urban areas has become more common in recent months, with residents urged to be cautious and report sightings to the authorities. Wildlife experts suggest that pythons may enter vehicles in search of warmth or shelter, especially during colder nights.
This incident serves as a reminder for vehicle owners to check their cars before starting their day, especially in areas with a high presence of wildlife. The public is encouraged to remain calm and contact the relevant authorities should they encounter any snakes or other dangerous animals.
