KUCHING, 14 November 2024 – The Sarawak International Festival of Music and the Arts (SIFMA) is proud to announce its collaboration with Madam Sabrina Tnay and her celebrated choir, Dolce Chanticleer. This vibrant choir group, known for its enchanting performances and cultural significance, will take the stage on December 7th and 8th, 2024, bringing a captivating selection of music to SIFMA 5.
Madam Sabrina Tnay, a distinguished vocal and piano instructor with roots in Sibu, has gained prominence in Kuching as a soprano and accomplished choral conductor. Known for her exceptional work with the Koir Simon Orkestra Negeri Sarawak, Sabrina’s musical journey reflects her dedication to both her art and community. With a career spanning many years, she has established herself as a leader in Sarawak’s music scene, inspiring young musicians through her guidance and talent.
Founded in 2015, Dolce Chanticleer embodies Sabrina’s vision for spreading goodwill and cultural unity through music. The choir performs an impressive range of genres, from sacred music and beloved Disney classics to smooth jazz and iconic Malaysian folk tunes. Their performances have achieved international acclaim, including an impressive distinction in the Advanced Choral Singing examination by the prestigious Royal Academy of Music. Dolce Chanticleer is no stranger to SIFMA; they performed at the festival in 2019 and 2021 and continue to be a symbol of Sarawak’s rich cultural spirit.
The choir also actively engages with the local community. Every Christmas, Dolce Chanticleer carols at hospitals, shopping malls, and elderly homes, bringing festive cheer and joy to those around them. Sabrina’s dedication to nurturing new talents is evident in her studio, where she passionately inspires the next generation of Sarawakian musicians.
