KUCHING, Aug 22 – In preparation for the Malaysia Games (Sukma) XXI Sarawak 2024 closing ceremony, scheduled to take place on August 24 at Stadium Perpaduan in Petra Jaya, the Kuching District Police Headquarters (IPD Kuching) has announced a series of road closures and traffic management plans. The ceremony is set to begin at 7pm and will continue until the event concludes, prompting several key road closures and alterations to traffic flow in the area.
Detailed Road Closures and Traffic Disruptions
To ensure a smooth and efficient traffic flow during the high-profile event, several major roads and intersections leading to Stadium Perpaduan will be closed starting from 3pm on the day of the event. The affected areas include:
Key Road Closures
- Sesco Roundabout – This key roundabout will be closed to all traffic.
- Kesuma Resort Roundabout – Traffic flow will be disrupted at this junction.
- Intersection from Sumber Alam to Stadium Perpaduan – This access route will be unavailable.
- Entrance from Jalan Stadium (Front) – The primary front entrance will be closed.
- Entrance from Jalan Stadium (Back) – The secondary back entrance will also be closed.
- Entrance from Jalan Diplomatik (Front of Aquatic Centre) – Access to this entrance will be restricted.
- Access Road to Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Centre (1) – This road will be closed to traffic.

- Using Jalan Diplomatik – Vehicles can access the designated parking area located behind the Sarawak Stadium.
Post-Event Exit Routes
- Vehicles Parked at Sarawak Stadium – After the event, vehicles should exit using Jalan Diplomatik towards Demak.
- Vehicles on Jalan Stadium (Ring Road) – To exit, vehicles should proceed via Jalan Stadium (Ring Road) towards Jalan Casuarina.
