KOTA SAMARAHAN: In a devastating accident early this morning, a 53-year-old teacher lost her life following a head-on collision along KM10, Jalan Samarahan-Mambong. The fatal crash occurred around 12:30 am near a local driving institute.

Details of the Collision

Kota Samarahan police chief DSP Jaimi Husin provided details about the accident, which involved a Perodua Axia and a Toyota Hilux. According to DSP Jaimi, the accident was caused when the Hilux, driven by a 45-year-old man, swerved out of control and crossed into the opposite lane. This resulted in a direct collision with the oncoming Axia, driven by the victim.

“Investigations found that the Hilux driven by a 45-year-old man, swerved out of control and entered the opposite lane before colliding with the oncoming Axia driven by the victim,” said DSP Jaimi Husin.

Immediate Aftermath

Paramedics who arrived at the scene pronounced the female driver of the Axia dead on the spot. The victim’s body was subsequently transported to the hospital for post-mortem procedures.

Firefighters from the Kota Samarahan station responded to an emergency call regarding the incident. They confirmed that the victim was pinned inside her vehicle and required extrication. Using specialized rescue tools, the team successfully removed her from the wreckage.

Ongoing Investigation

The case is currently being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Further details about the condition of the Hilux driver and any potential charges have not yet been released.

This tragic event has deeply affected the local community, highlighting the ongoing issue of road safety in the area. Authorities are urging drivers to exercise caution, especially on high-risk roads like Jalan Samarahan-Mambong.
