Despite the medical team’s best efforts, including administering CPR, the child could not be revived and was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

The case has been referred to the Sarawak General Hospital’s Forensics Department for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Jaimi also revealed that two investigation papers have been opened. One is classified as a sudden death report, and the other falls under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001, which addresses child neglect or abuse.

Authorities have urged the public to refrain from speculating on the incident while investigations are ongoing.

This tragedy serves as a painful reminder of the dangers children face when left in vehicles, even for a short period. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to always double-check their vehicles and ensure no child is left behind, particularly in Malaysia’s warm weather conditions.

The community is deeply saddened by the loss, and our thoughts go out to the grieving family during this challenging time.
