A tragic incident unfolded in the quiet neighborhood of Kampung Simee, Ipoh, Perak, on Wednesday morning when a woman, suspected of frequently suffering domestic violence, was allegedly fatally attacked by her husband. The violent altercation took place around 8:30 a.m., following a family breakfast involving the couple’s 12-year-old daughter.

Incident Details

According to reports, the argument escalated with the husband allegedly striking his wife on the head with an object before fatally stabbing her. The entire incident occurred in front of their young daughter, adding a layer of tragedy to the already horrific event.

Arrest and Investigation

Authorities responded swiftly, with police receiving information about the case at 9:35 a.m. The suspect, a 56-year-old man, was arrested at the scene. Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad confirmed the arrest and noted that the victim, a 48-year-old woman, was found in a pool of blood on the porch of their house on Laluan Simee 11.

“There were three stab wounds on her chest and an injury to her head. The motive of the murder has yet to be ascertained, but based on a statement from a family member, the victim used to frequently argue with her husband,” ACP Abang Zainal Abidin said in a statement.

Reenactment and Evidence Collection

At around 12:33 p.m., the suspect was brought back to the house to reenact the incident. Police seized a knife and a metal rod from the scene as part of their investigation. The suspect is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, and a remand order will be obtained at the Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

Family’s Statement and Ongoing Investigation

Family members have claimed that the woman had often been a victim of domestic violence. The incident has shocked the community, and Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri has stated that investigations are ongoing.

“Wait for the full report from Ipoh (Ipoh district police headquarters),” he said, urging patience as authorities piece together the details of this devastating case.
