Collision between Motorcycle and Car on Jalan Lubok Antu Leads to Fatal Consequences
LUBOK ANTU: An 18-year-old boy tragically lost his life in a devastating road accident at Kilometer 36, Jalan Lubok Antu-Sri Aman, yesterday.
According to Lubok Antu District Police Chief, DSP Victor Ripon, the victim, identified as a motorcycle rider, was involved in the accident that occurred around 4.30 pm.
“At the time of the incident, the victim is believed to be traveling from the direction of Lubok Antu towards the Lubok Antu junction,” Victor Ripon stated in a media briefing today.
Eyewitnesses reported that upon reaching the scene, the motorcycle ridden by the victim seemed to have lost control, veering into the opposite lane and colliding with an oncoming car.
Tragically, the impact of the collision resulted in the victim sustaining severe injuries, ultimately leading to their demise at the scene.
The deceased’s body was promptly transported to Sri Aman Hospital for further procedures.
Thankfully, the driver of the car involved in the accident emerged unscathed, escaping without any injuries.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987 to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to this unfortunate event.
