MIRI, 23 Feb 2025 – Two local men were arrested by the police for allegedly stealing items from an air conditioning service shop at Jalan Usahawan 7, Eastwood Valley Industrial Estate. The suspects, aged 32 and 22, were caught less than 48 hours after their actions were recorded on the shop’s closed-circuit television (CCTV).

Theft Discovered During Routine Inspection
The incident came to light on the morning of 21 February, around 8:00 AM, when the shop owner noticed something was amiss while inspecting a Toyota Hilux used for business operations. Two units of UTP network cables, worth approximately RM2,526, were found missing.

Upon reviewing the CCTV footage, it was revealed that a man had gained entry into the premises by climbing over the front fence. The shop owner immediately lodged a police report, prompting an investigation.
Quick Police Action Leads to Arrest
Based on the CCTV evidence, authorities swiftly acted and arrested the two suspects on Saturday afternoon. The men are now assisting in further investigations.
This case is being investigated under Section 381 of the Penal Code, which deals with theft in a building. If convicted, the suspects could face severe penalties, including jail time.
