KUCHING, Dec 25: A fire at Kampung Sungai Tapang this afternoon resulted in two vehicles being severely damaged.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) reported receiving an emergency call about the incident at 2.40pm. A team from the Batu Lintang Fire and Rescue Station was immediately dispatched to the scene.
The blaze completely engulfed a Mazda vehicle, leaving it beyond recognition, while a BMW sustained extensive damage, with 95% of the car destroyed.
“Our firefighting team used one initial water hose line and a two-nozzle water line to put out the flames,” Bomba said in a statement.
Thanks to the team’s swift action, the fire was brought under control within 14 minutes, by 2.54pm. Operations were officially concluded at 3.37pm.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported during the incident. However, the identities of the vehicle owners remain unknown at this time.
The case has been referred to the police for further investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
