KUCHING, 2 March 2025 – His Excellency the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Bin Tuanku Jaafar together with Her Excellency Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Binti Mohd. Sanusi, visited the lively Ramadan Bazaar @ Stutong 2025 at the Stutong Community Market car park.

The royal couple was warmly welcomed by YB Datuk Dr. Haji Abdul Rahman Bin Haji Junaidi, Deputy Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications (Utilities) Sarawak, and YBhg. Dato Wee Hong Seng, Mayor of Kuching South City Council.

This annual bazaar has always been a highlight for the people of Kuching during Ramadan, and this year was no different. Various stalls were set up, selling traditional kuih-muih, grilled chicken, nasi briyani, and refreshing drinks for iftar.

During the visit, TYT Tun Pehin Sri said he was happy to see how the bazaar brought people of all races and backgrounds together. The spirit of unity and harmony was clear, as everyone shopped side by side, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere.

“I hope all the traders will always keep their stalls clean and sell only high-quality food. This is important not only for the customers but also as part of our responsibility to seek halal and honest income,” he reminded.

Besides that, TYT Tun Pehin Sri also advised visitors to spend wisely and avoid wasting food. He said, “Ramadan teaches us to appreciate our blessings and to share with those in need. Let this holy month bring more good deeds and stronger family bonds.”

The visit of the Sarawak State Ruler added even more excitement to the bazaar, as many visitors took the chance to greet the TYT and Toh Puan. Some even took pictures with them to keep as special memories.

The Ramadan Bazaar @ Stutong is expected to continue attracting large crowds until the last day of Ramadan, offering not only delicious food but also a chance for people to strengthen community spirit and celebrate diversity in Sarawak.
