KUCHING: The Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) successfully organised a blood donation drive on Saturday, receiving an overwhelming response from the public. A total of 88 donors participated in the event, demonstrating the spirit of unity, kindness, and compassion among Sarawakians.
The initiative was held in collaboration with the Sarawak General Hospital Blood Bank, Aeroville Mall, and the Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA). The event saw participation from individuals of different backgrounds, proving that generosity knows no boundaries.

Strong Community Support
UNIFOR’s newly appointed Director, Dato Georgina Apphia Ngau, expressed her deep appreciation for the outstanding support from the donors and partners.

“Donating blood is one of the most invaluable gifts we can offer to others. At the end of the day, despite our differences, all our blood is red,” she said, emphasising how this initiative promotes harmony and selflessness.
The enthusiastic participation of donors reflects the growing awareness of the need for blood donations and the willingness of Sarawakians to help those in need. Many donors shared their personal motivations, stating that they wanted to make a difference and contribute to saving lives.
UNIFOR’s Ongoing CSR Commitment
This blood donation campaign is part of UNIFOR’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts to give back to the community. The organisation remains committed to fostering goodwill and encouraging more people to contribute to meaningful causes.
Following the success of this event, UNIFOR has already planned another blood donation drive, scheduled for July 26, 2025. This upcoming initiative aims to continue the momentum and further support the Sarawak General Hospital Blood Bank in maintaining adequate blood supplies.
A Small Act with a Big Impact
The overwhelming response to the blood donation drive serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of unity and compassion. A single donation can save multiple lives, and the generosity of donors ensures that hospitals can provide essential medical treatments to patients in need.
As UNIFOR continues to organise similar community initiatives, Sarawakians are encouraged to take part and contribute to making a positive impact. — EDISI UKAS
