Kuching, 26 March 2025 – The Mayor of Kuching South, Dato Wee Hong Seng, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all Councillors during the final Full Council Meeting of the current term at the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) today.
In his speech, Dato Wee acknowledged the hard work, dedication, and commitment of the Councillors who have served alongside him since he took office as Mayor in September 2019. He praised their collective efforts in making Kuching South a more vibrant and well-recognized city.

“Together, we have strived to improve our city, enhance its reputation, and ensure that Kuching South remains a great place to live and visit,” he stated, highlighting the many achievements of his term.

Recognizing that not all members may be reappointed in the next term, Dato Wee extended his sincere thanks to those concluding their service. “Your contributions will not be forgotten. I deeply appreciate your dedication, ideas, and passion, and for standing united during both challenges and successes,” he said.
During his address, Dato Wee also took a moment to apologise for any unintended words or actions that may have occurred during intense discussions throughout their term. “Please understand that everything we said and did was rooted in our shared mission—to serve Kuching South with heart and dedication,” he added.
As the council prepares for a new chapter, Dato Wee ended his speech with well wishes for both outgoing and continuing Councillors. “May success, health, and happiness follow you wherever you go. Let us continue to carry the spirit of Kuching South with pride,” he concluded.
With this heartfelt farewell, the MBKS council now looks forward to new leadership and fresh perspectives in the upcoming term.
