Rihanna has spoken out for the first time following the not-guilty verdict in her partner A$AP Rocky’s felony assault trial.

Back in 2021, A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was accused of firing a handgun at his former friend, A$AP Relli, during an argument. The rapper faced two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. If found guilty, he could have faced up to 24 years in prison.
However, on February 18, the Los Angeles Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center ruled Rocky not guilty of both charges. As soon as the verdict was announced, Rocky was seen celebrating with his loved ones in a now-viral video.

“Thank y’all for saving my life. Thank y’all for making the right decision,” he said. Later, during a press conference, he expressed his gratitude again.
“I gotta thank God first,” he said. “And I really want to thank the jury for making the right decision… I’m just so thankful. This is crazy right now. This whole experience has been crazy for the past four years, but I’m thankful nonetheless. I’m thankful and blessed to be here as a free man talking to you all.”
Rihanna Reacts to the Verdict
Rihanna, who shares two young children with Rocky, also reacted to the news. She took to Instagram Stories, writing:
“The Glory belongs to God and God alone. THANKFUL, HUMBLED BY HIS MERCY!”
The singer, known for fiercely supporting her family, was also filmed shutting down a reporter outside the courtroom. When asked how Rocky felt about losing a childhood friend, Rihanna sharply replied, “How you think it feels?”
