KUCHING, 27 February 2025 – The Wives’ Charities Association (SABATI) has once again shown its caring spirit by contributing RM20,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Malaysia. This donation will support the construction of a new Ronald McDonald Guest House near Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), aiming to give parents a comfortable place to stay while caring for their sick children.

The donation was officially announced by YBhg Datuk Amar Puan Sri Hajjah Jumaani Tun Tuanku Haji Bujang, who is the President of SABATI and wife of the Premier of Sarawak. During the donation ceremony, Datuk Amar Puan Sri Hajjah Jumaani highlighted the importance of providing affordable accommodation for families travelling from rural areas to Kuching when their children need medical care at SGH.

The donation handover was held in conjunction with RHMC’s Back to School Pack Distribution Programme, where 200 students from kindergartens and primary schools around Kuching received school supplies to help them prepare for the new school year. This event also served as a platform to raise awareness about RMHC’s ongoing charitable efforts to support underprivileged children and their families.

Several prominent figures also attended the event, including YBhg Dato Enn Ong Siok Ean, Deputy President and Honorary Secretary of SABATI, YBhg Datin Amar Baduyah Haji Bujang, Chairman of MAKSAK Sarawak, YBhg Dato Haji Hilmy Haji Othman, Mayor of DBKU, and Mohd Nasri bin Mohamad Nordin, General Manager of RHMC Malaysia.

With this latest contribution, SABATI hopes to inspire more corporate bodies, NGOs, and the public to come forward and support initiatives that provide comfort, care, and hope to families facing medical challenges. – Sarawakku
