Missing Woman in Kampung Simpok Found Safe After Quick SAR Mission

PADAWAN: A 57-year-old woman who was reported missing in the forest near Kampung Simpok, Padawan, was found safe last night, thanks to the quick action of rescue teams and villagers.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Centre (PGO) said they received an emergency call about the missing woman at 7.50pm. Right after the call, a team from Siburan Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), together with volunteers from Simpok Volunteer Fire Department (PBS), rushed to the scene. Seven personnel and two fire engines were sent for the rescue.

According to Operations Commander PBK I Shaiful Ismail Othman, initial reports showed that villagers discovered the missing woman in a garden area about two kilometres away from the main road.

“Once we got the information, our team immediately moved to the location to check the victim’s condition and gather further details,” Shaiful said.

The Search and Rescue (SAR) team safely led the woman out of the forest area. Thankfully, she did not suffer any injuries. After ensuring she was safe, the rescue team handed her over to the police for further action.

This operation not only involved the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department, but also received full support from the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) Tapah and PBS Simpok.

The combined efforts of the rescue team and the quick response from Kampung Simpok villagers ensured the search was fast and successful. This incident once again highlights the importance of community cooperation and the efficiency of our rescue teams in handling emergency situations.

For the safety of all, villagers are reminded to always be cautious when entering forest areas, especially during the evening or at night, to avoid such incidents in the future.
