KUCHING (Feb 11): Datuk Len Talif Salleh has announced his intention to contest for the vice president (VP) post in the upcoming Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) party election, with a heartfelt mission to represent the unheard voices in Sarawak.

“I hope to be a voice for the voiceless, a bridge between diverse perspectives, and a servant-leader who puts the needs of others before my own,” said Len Talif, who currently serves as the Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment.

Len Talif expressed his desire to contribute to Sarawak’s continued growth and well-being, drawing on his extensive experience of 32 years in public service. “I feel a deep sense of responsibility to give back and make a positive impact on the community. I am humbled to be considered for this role and grateful for the opportunity to serve,” he told The Borneo Post.

The Kuala Rajang assemblyman credited his motivation to the selfless dedication of PBB members and their unwavering commitment to the community. He emphasized the importance of unity and inclusivity within the party.

“I hope to emulate their spirit of service and compassion. I don’t represent any particular group, but I stand for democratic values, inclusivity, and justice for all. Regardless of the election outcome, the maturity of our party is a testament to our strength and unity,” he said.

Len Talif is one of six candidates from the Bumiputera wing contesting for the PBB vice president post. The other candidates include incumbents Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi, Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Dr Annuar Rapa’ee, and Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.

Also joining the contest is newcomer Datuk Ibrahim Baki, the Satok assemblyman.

The upcoming PBB party election is expected to be a significant event as these leaders vie for positions to shape the future of the party and contribute to the state’s progress. — The Borneo Post
