“However, at the very least, there is good cooperation between us,” he told reporters after officiating the D Dentist Dental Clinic in Tabuan Jaya on Sunday.
Federal Government to Discuss New Petros-Petronas Projects
Earlier, Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated during a press conference at the 2025 MADANI Government Ministerial Retreat that discussions will be held to further refine the scope of collaboration between Petros and Petronas.
Dato’ Seri Anwar highlighted that the discussions will focus on new projects in multiple fields and ensure that both entities can work together effectively for mutual benefits.
He also mentioned that he, along with Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Fadillah Yusof, will communicate with the Sarawak Government to arrange a meeting to hear their proposals.
This potential collaboration is expected to enhance Sarawak’s role in the national oil and gas industry while strengthening economic ties between the state and federal government.
Future of Oil & Gas in Sarawak
With Sarawak holding significant oil and gas reserves, any agreement between Petros and Petronas could lead to new opportunities for energy development, job creation, and revenue generation for the state. As both parties prepare for discussions, industry players and stakeholders will be closely monitoring developments in this partnership. — EDISI UKAS
